A finished wall is the result of several thin, patient coats. Rushing a coat traps moisture, shrinks the mud and leaves a ridge you will see forever. We let each coat dry, knock it down, and widen the next one so the transition between board and joint becomes invisible.

That discipline matters more in Kamloops than in wetter parts of BC. Our dry summers and heated winters move mud fast, and a schedule that ignores that produces cracking a year later. We plan drying time around the actual conditions in the building.

Ceilings, stairwells and any wall lit from the side are the hardest surfaces in a house. Those are the places we slow down, widen joints further, and check the surface under a raking work light before sanding is called done.

If a room has pot lights washing a wall, a big south or west window, or a dark satin paint going on, tell us early — that usually means a full skim rather than a standard finish.

We hand the surface over dusted, spot-checked and genuinely ready for primer, so your painter isn't fixing our work on their clock. If we also handle the painting, the two stages line up without a gap in the schedule.
